Privacy Policy
Last updated: 20-July-2026
www.aerloft.com, including its content, features, tools, products and services (together, the "Services"), is operated by Aerloft Collective, LLC, trading as AERLOFT ("we", "us", "our"). The store is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide the Services to you. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and disclose your personal information when you visit the Services, make a purchase, or otherwise communicate with us. If there is any conflict between our Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy, this Privacy Policy controls with respect to personal information.
The short version: we collect what's needed to sell, produce, and deliver art prints and to stay in touch with you, and we don't sell your personal information for money.
1. Personal Information We Collect
"Personal information" means information that identifies you or can reasonably be linked to you; it doesn't include anonymised or de-identified information. Depending on how you interact with the Services, we may collect:
- Contact details: your name, email address, delivery and billing address, and phone number where you provide one.
- Payment information: handled by our payment processors — we do not receive or store full bank or card details, only confirmation of payment and the form of payment used.
- Transaction information: the items you view, add to your cart, purchase, or make a claim about, and your order history.
- Account information: if you create an account, your login details and preferences.
- Communications: whatever you include when you write to us, including messages sent through the site's forms.
- Device and usage information: device and browser type, IP address, pages visited, and how you arrived — collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies, described below.
We collect personal information directly from you, automatically through your use of the Services, and from the service providers that operate parts of the store on our behalf.
2. How We Use Personal Information
- Providing the Services: processing payments, fulfilling and shipping orders, handling damage claims, managing any account you create, and remembering your preferences.
- Marketing and advertising: sending the newsletter if you've subscribed (every email includes an unsubscribe link that takes effect immediately), and showing and measuring online advertising, including based on your activity on the Services.
- Security and fraud prevention: authenticating payments and protecting the Services and our customers from fraudulent or malicious activity.
- Communicating with you: responding to your messages and sending service emails about your orders — confirmations, dispatch and tracking.
- Legal reasons: complying with applicable law and valid legal process, and enforcing our terms and policies, including tax and accounting obligations.
3. How We Disclose Personal Information
We disclose personal information only for legitimate purposes:
- With Shopify, which hosts the store and processes checkout, and with vendors who perform services on our behalf — payment processing, production and delivery of orders (including carriers), email services, IT, data analytics, and customer support.
- With business and marketing partners to advertise and measure advertising. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to direct us not to share your information for targeted advertising — you can opt out via the Your Privacy Choices page linked in the site footer.
- When you direct or consent to a disclosure, such as shipping your order.
- In connection with a business transaction such as a merger or sale of the business, in which case this policy continues to apply to your information.
- To comply with legal obligations, respond to subpoenas or similar requests, enforce our terms, and protect the Services and the rights of our customers and others.
We do not sell your personal information for money. Some advertising uses described above may count as a "sale" or "sharing" under how certain state privacy laws define those terms; the opt-out above covers them.
4. Cookies
The Services use cookies and similar technologies of three kinds: essential cookies that make the site and checkout work (these can't be switched off), analytics cookies that tell us how the site is used, and advertising cookies that support the delivery and measurement of advertising. You can control cookies through your browser settings and manage advertising preferences through the Your Privacy Choices page in the footer. If you visit with the Global Privacy Control signal enabled, we treat it as an opt-out request for that browser and device (and, where we can associate it with an account, for the account as well) — you can learn more at globalprivacycontrol.org. Other than Global Privacy Control, we do not respond to "Do Not Track" signals.
5. Relationship With Shopify
The Services are hosted by Shopify, which collects and processes personal information about your access to and use of the Services in order to provide and improve them. Information you submit to the Services is transmitted to and shared with Shopify, and with third parties that may be located in other countries, for that purpose. We also use certain Shopify enhanced features that draw on data from your interactions with our store, other merchants, and Shopify; for those features, Shopify is responsible for the processing of your personal information, including responding to requests to exercise your rights over it. To learn more, see the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy (shopify.com/legal/privacy/app-users); depending on where you live, you can also exercise rights over Shopify-processed data at privacy.shopify.com.
6. Third-Party Websites And Links
The Services may link to websites operated by third parties. We aren't responsible for their privacy or security practices — review their policies before providing information. Anything you share on public or social platforms is governed by those platforms, not by this policy, and a link from our site isn't an endorsement.
7. Children
The Services are intended for adults aged 18 and over, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you are the parent or guardian of a minor who has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it. As of the date above, we have no actual knowledge that we "share" or "sell" (as defined in applicable law) the personal information of anyone under 16.
8. Security And Retention
Your information is held in the systems of the established providers described above, protected by encryption in transit and those providers' security measures. No security is perfect, and information you send us may not be secure in transit — please don't use insecure channels to send us sensitive information. We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services, meet tax, accounting and legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements: order records for as long as those purposes require, newsletter details until you unsubscribe, and correspondence for as long as it remains relevant. Information no longer needed is deleted.
9. Your Rights And Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of these rights over your personal information; they aren't absolute, and in some cases we may decline a request as permitted by law:
- Access: request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction: ask us to correct inaccurate information.
- Deletion: ask us to delete your information. We honour deletion requests except where records must be kept — completed order and tax records, for example.
- Portability: request your information in a portable form.
- Opt out of targeted advertising: via the Your Privacy Choices page or the Global Privacy Control, as described in section 4.
To exercise any of these, email support@aerloft.com. We may need to verify your identity first, as permitted or required by law; you may use an authorised agent, in which case we'll ask for proof of authorisation. We will respond within the time applicable law requires — normally within 30 days — and we will never discriminate against you for exercising your rights. If you're unhappy with our response, you can contact us to appeal and, depending on where you live, lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. For marketing email, the unsubscribe link in any email is the fastest route; service emails about your orders continue either way.
10. Where Information Is Processed
We are a US business, and your personal information is processed in the United States and in the countries where our service providers operate. If we ever transfer personal information from a jurisdiction that requires transfer safeguards (such as the EEA or UK), we will rely on recognised mechanisms such as standard contractual clauses.
11. Changes To This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, including to reflect changes in our practices or for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We'll post the revised version here, update the date at the top, and provide notice as required by law.
12. Contact
Questions about this policy or your personal information, or requests to exercise your rights, can be sent to support@aerloft.com. We aim to respond within one business day.
